Deuteronomy 5:3
3He did not make this covenant with our fathers1, but with all of us who are alive here today.
Translation Notes
1Different from Abraham’s covenant of circumcision (Hebrews) and Noah’s covenant of the rainbow (world). There are three covenants with the Hebrews: circumcision, Horeb, the new covenant of Jeremiah 31:31. There are also three eternal promises to the Israelites: the land, the priesthood and the throne.
